A central focus in the design is on the monolithic appearance of the counter body, which is made from a single material. The smooth surface is partially adorned with a relief-like pattern based on our specially developed “Formfeld 2” structure. The characteristic feature of this structure lies in the gradual transition from a flat plane to triangular surfaces. The irregular and non-repeating depth arrangement of these triangles gradually increases towards the upper edge of the counter front. In comparison to the project for “Zirngibl Lawyers”, where the same structure was used, here the aspect ratio of the triangles has been modified to create a diamond-shaped appearance. Additionally, the pattern extends over the rounded counter edge, presenting an increased technical challenge in terms of CNC-milled surface and miter joint. The L-shaped counter has dimensions of approximately 3.8 meters by 2.7 meters and was completed in 2022. More about Formfeld surfaces: www.formfeld.net/en.
